Hello,
Please kindly help me with answers to this questions.
1. Can a Visitor Visa holder in Canada apply for Asylum or Refugee to remain in Canada due
to the crises in his home country?
Will his application be approved? How will he package his application?

2. How can I bring my next of kin to Canada? I have a good job here in Canada.
And by God's grace I am not hungry. But I am so lonely because I live alone.
I will retire in the next few years. But want to bring my next of kin to Canada.
Under which immigration program can I bring him to stay with me and possibly
work here in Canada? Unfortunately, he does not qualify for the Federal Skill Worker Program.
Thanks for helping guys.
Thanks,
Wisdom7

Answer to question 1: Yes a visitor can claim refugee protection from within canada but the conditions or base of claim cannot be just crises in your home country. it is an option for those who fear persecution or who would be in danger if they had to leave. the danger can be persecution based on religion or race, torture, a risk to life, a risk of cruel and unusual treatment or punishment. nowadays the decision is made within 30-60 days by the IRB. you can read the details how to apply from cic website at
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/refugees/inside/index.asp
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/refugees/inside/apply-how.asp

Nowadays it is really a fast processing and within 60days if the claimant get a positive decision he/she can apply for a permanent residence status. during the process the claimant/applicant is allowed to work (open work permit) and provided with a health coverage.

Answer to question 2) YES you can sponsor any relative to come and live with you in canada and the relative will get permanent residence and can work or do anything for his/her living etc and later he can apply for citizenship. You can sponsor one relative of any age or relationship, but only if you do not have Close living relatives who could be sponsored as a member of the family class. (e.g spouse, parents, childrens, uncle etc) plus you do not have any relative in canada who is citizen or permanent resident. you can read the details at:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/relatives-apply-who.asp

Hope it helps
