Friend's length of stay question

Hello all,

I have a friend that is visiting me for a couple of weeks. When she arrived today, a CBSA officer called me from the airport asking me about her stay, my relationship to her, my status in Canada, etc. He told me that she wouldn't be granted entry to Canada if I didn't know her and that if she overstayed her 2 weeks visit that she claimed I would be called and held accountable for her overstay.

After the call, the officer told her he trusted her this time and let her in without issuing a Visitor Record.
Her plan here is staying anywhere from 2 weeks up to a month, just visiting.

Since I'm a PR of Canada, I'm worried about how would I be held accountable for an overstay. Does anyone here know what could happen in my case if she overstays a couple of weeks? And since no Visitor Record was issued does that mean that she actually has up to 6 months to stay?

Thank you all!

Did they write a date in her passport on the chop? The date in the passport is the date her visa expires. She would need to leave by that date or apply to extend her visit.
As far as holding you accountable, I doubt there is anything they could actually do (although they can make notes on your file that may draw unwanted attention to you if you enter the country at any point) other than call you to locate her. CBSA May or May not have easily accessible information on her departure, as they don’t record departures at this time (at least not directly). It should be noted your friend has probably been flagged in the system and will end up in secondary every time she visits. If she stays longer than she indicated and plans to return to Canada again in the future, she should expect a refusal at the border if she goes beyond the 2 weeks she indicated.
