hi everybody,
i'm new to this forum,
wow such a useful site and so many knowledgeable people on it too.
i have a question for all the senior members,
(my case is already approved, i have received my pr visa)
is that if i land in my friends car with his authorization letter for use of the vehicle,
will it be a problem,
secondly its the same car which i'm planning to buy from my friend when he comes to visit me in canada from us .
would i have to pay the duty for it if i buy from him on a latter date (the reason being i'm short on cash) or is it better to do the purchase before and land with it (its a us plated vehicle).
waiting for your answers
thank you.

Ok, I'm no expert but I guess you can cross the border into canada with your friends car, as long as all his paperwork is in order, if asked just say it's a loan and that your friend will come and pick it up on a later date.

You will have to pay the duty on the car when you buy it and import it.

At least this is how it works going into the US, I have no idea how it is in canada but I can asume it's something similar.
