friend of my mine submitted paper application to extend his study permit 4 weeks ago currently in Canada for English studies

later on he found that he wrote that he had already been accepted for university studies for September 2020 ,which he was not. ( he was accepted only for English for another year ) he simply thinks he sent the wrong paper application. what is the best way to proceed with this paper application. ? how can he cancel it or change it without having an issues with CIC. they have not replied yet to his application and his current study permit expires mid july 2020.. PLEASE Advice

Call IRCC and ask if you can submit a correction or cancel the application, now is also not a great time to apply anything on paper.
