Frequent Visits to Canada

I live in the US and my boyfriend lives in Canada. I frequently visit him averaging every couple of months. I have never run into an issue but am fearful one of these times I will be refused entry for some reason like coming there too much. Does this look bad to the authorities that I come to visit him this often? Is there another credential I can apply for that would help ease the anxiety and allow me to continue visiting? I do have plans to move there and have posted on another group about how to do so. Any advice is very much appreciated.

Thank you!

Have you tried Nexus? http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/prog/nexus/menu-eng.html

Nonetheless if you have a valid reason (live near the border, she lives near the border), the visits are short, you always stay for a couple fo weeks max, etc. there should be no problem. Remember to always carry proof of employment, bank statements, etc. if they one day ask.

Thank you for your help. Do you know if I stay for the 6 months and apply for an extension, how long do the generally approve it for? Another 6 months or longer? :)

It's really up to the visa officer. Typically you will get another six months or a year if you tell the visa officer you are working on becoming common law.

In your other post you said that you plan to leave Canada once in a while to visit your children in the US. If that's the case, you should be aware that the extension is effectively canceled as soon as you leave Canada. When you re-enter, you are entering as a new visitor.
