French Language proficiency

Hi All,

I am a Graduate in computer science (B.Tech.) from a reputed indian institute. Having 8 yrs of experiance in software development field. Currently I do not know french. But I am sure I'll learn it by attanding the classes here. But I want to know what level of knowledge do they require for immigration to Quebec? Also do they take any interview for french during the process?
Does my spouse also required to learn french?

You can learn French Language and take the exams...if you are the principal applicant, your wife needs not to do it.

Thanks for your reply. I have few more doubts.
1. Are you talking about the exams at the time of learning french like: DELF or do they take any other exam during the process?
2. What level do the expect?
