I am from Mumbai and coming to Canada for my Post Graduation Diploma course. While studying I have 20 hours work visa. I was wondering if there are opportunities to work as a freelancer in Canada.
I've freelanced in Mumbai (India) for Social Media, Graphic Designing, Website Development and Writing!

Any scope of such jobs in Canada?
If yes, any idea about the income?

My partner did freelance web development for a long time, but he didn't make much money doing it. What it did do was allow him to make important connections. He was able to get a job at an airline ticket consolidator, which provided valuable experience and replaced a university degree (he has a psychology degree). He now makes a good salary working for a much better company.

Freelancing is difficult, but you will occasionally bump into people who need work done. Having business cards on you is important for such times. I was doing freelancing for US companies for a while over internet sites like Elance.com, but there's a lot of competition and it's usually not worth the headache.

Junior Web Development positions are relatively common, depending on what part of Canada you're in. That would probably be your best bet. They often have contract positions.

Being associated with internet marketing industry.. I have seen much wider scope in terms of career and income too. Online marketing is rapidly increasing in overseas countries.
