Hello Everyone,

I already had three year post graduation work permit from Sept 2010 - Sept 2013 and one year LMIA work permit from Jan - Dec 2014. So i already had four year work permit.

My current status is that i am on study permit till Sept 2017.

Question: I need to know can i apply for post graduation work permit after finishing my college diploma as four year rule has been eliminated from Dec 13,2016?

Please reply to my question

Thanks

I remember PGWP is only issued once a lifetime...

4 year limit was never counted for PGWP and PGWP is still once in a lifetime

So if you need to extend work permit, you will need either LMIA or LMIA exemptions

As others have explained, you can only hold a PGWP once. Since you have already had one - you cannot qualify for a second.

If you want to work after you graduate, you will need to find an employer who is willing to offer you a full time job and who can obtain an approved LMIA so that you can apply for a closed work permit. Your employer has to apply for the LMIA and get it approved before you can apply for a work permit.

This still holds true, that you cannot apply for a PGWP again, this is a once in a life time work permit. Considering the fact that you have so much Canadian Work experience and if this experience is in a job which falls under either NOC 0, A or B, you would have gotten PR by now through CEC. Your work experience from your last PGWP is invalid now and wouldn't fetch you any point for Canadian work experience. As of today, your work experience from your LMIA work permit is also invalid, however you can still use that experience to claim points in FSW. You should not delay any single minute to assess your eligibility for FSW program and create your Express Entry profile ASAP. As long as you have submitted your PR application about 2 months before your study permit expires, in an ideal situation you should be able to acquire BOWP. Hope this helps.
