Form-Q: Have you ever had any serious disease or physical or mental disorder

Hi All,

I NEED to go to Canada, because I have a job offer there in a profession which only 30 companies worldwide offer. My future employer is no canadian citizen, thus, he cannot sponser me. For that reason, I have to undergo the immigration process completely on my own.

My ranking points with all the forms available in internet are above 85. But my curriculum vitae as asked for in the application form has a flaw. I had and was - successfully - treated for a Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. Since there are many stigmata concerning Personality Disorders (especially since there are only 5 % of all patiants actually recovering to a full healthy state - a rate which I proudly admit includes me) I would rather not tell it in the form. Can they find out? If yes, why and how?

What happens, if they find out and I did not state it?

Why do they want to know? The chances that I get a relaps are near to nothing. Not unlike any other healthy member of the community.

Thanks for your help

P.S. I have to add that I neither take medications nor do I need treatment.

PPS. Is a Posttraumatic Stress Disorder even considered to be a "serious mental disorder"? The current list includes the following:

certain impulsive sociopathic behaviour disorders,
some aberrant sexual disorders such as paedophilia,
certain paranoid states,
some organic brain syndromes associated with violence or risk harm to others, and
applicants with substance abuse leading to antisocial behaviour such as fighting, impaired driving, or other types of antisocial behaviour.

Nothing of that fits to the symptoms of Posttraumatic Stress Disorders. So is there a need to declare it or not?
