I am a Canadian citizen living in Philadelphia, PA (I've had my green card and lived here since 2006), and I am trying to get Canadian citizenship for my two American sons that I adopted while living here the USA. The adoptions completed here in Philadelphia a couple of years ago.
I submitted the form: CIT 0010 - Application for Canadian Citizenship - Adopted person - Part 1. for both boys (submitted together in same package) and they were received by CIC on November 3, 2015, and they began processing the CIT 0010 forms exactly 91 days later on February 2, 2016.
I'll post when I get any news, but does anyone have any idea how this works, what's next, if I am going about this using the wrong citizenship/immigration route, or how long this will take? I still have to submit the forms CIT 0012 after my CIT 0010 forms are approved. I'm so confused.
