form 5481 Sponsorship Evaluation

Hey all, I just need a little clarification.

I'm filling out form 5481 Sponsorship Evaluation and I'm getting confused with questions 5 & 6. Question #5 wants you to list how many current undertakings you have. I'm sponsoring my common-law partner, and I assume he would be my current undertaking? I then look down to #6 A. and it has a box specific to 'Your spouse or common-law partner if not included in #5'.

So I guess my major question is, is my partner my current undertaking? and what should I put in the box for #6A?

I just want to make sure

Nothing for either of them. The entire thing would all equal ONE. Being your spouse

I'm married with a child (our son is a Canadian citizen). I'm sponsoring my wife, she is the only one being sponsored. So, for IMM5481, this is how I filled it in:

4 - Yourself (1)
5 - Current Undertaking (1)
6B - Our son (1)

Page 2 - all N/A except for 6B where I entered our son's information.

Does this sound right???

hey guys,

I was reading the post and i got confused as i was thinking something else.

The thing is that i am sponsoring my wife. we do not have any children. I am a PR here. Now can you guys please walk me through the form 5481.

5)B) i) 0 ( all zero as i have not sponsored anyone in the past !! or should i keep any of these 1 so as to include my spouse ?)

B) vi) 0

6) A) 1
6) B) 0

7) 2

I hope this is right ... please correct me ... !!!

I don't think it's necessary to enter '0'...just leave those boxes blank.

This is what it states in the guide:

Details of current and previous undertakings.

Write the number of persons included in undertakings in effect and not yet in effect.

If you have signed undertakings in the past, you must provide some details about them. Follow the instructions on the form and be specific.

It doesn't say to write '0'. I interpret the guide to mean only enter a number 1-whatever, if you have sponsored someone in the past...

So that means that i leave al 5's and 6A blank.... ??

It would seem so...I did. Anyway, wouldn't a blank be the same thing as a zero?
