Hello everybody I am a street musician from Italy wanting to visit Canada while keep doing my job
On the official website it's stated :
"Buskers
Buskers include street performers or people performing at street festivals. In most cases, they should meet the requirements of R186(g)."

does anybody have a clue about how that visa works like do I get it on arrival just by declaring my intentions or is there anything I have to do prior to my landing
also am I entitled to that visa just by being self proclaim busker or is it part of a particual concept of busking I am not aware of.
Best regards
Fulvio

This refers to those busking at street festivals so include the contract/agreement you have with the festivals. That is what you need to show to get a work permit, and only allows you to work at that one festival. Or are you just wanting to busk on any street while on vacation? If so that would not be grounds for a permit and is illegal work if you do. Most cities require you to get a busking permit too.

Hello thanks for your reply but are you sure about ur claims
the way it is written on the by the immigration seems to imply that both people performing at street festival or generic street performers are eligible to get the visa.

I haven't seen this topic discussed here much and am not sure that you're going to get a lot of feedback on how this works. I don't know how easy it will be to get the WP issued if you are not tied to a street festival. I don't have the knowledge to comment on that.

My thoughts if you want to try this:
- Make sure you have a return ticket
- Make sure you can show you have enough funds to support yourself during your visit without relying on the busking (this is in case they don't issue the WP for some reason)
- In case your asked, make sure you have some sort of evidence / proof of your street musician background
- Your arrival in Canada should be in a late spring or summer month (e.g. May or June). Not realistic to be busking during the cold months. So your arrival in Canada should make sense and be timed with the period of the year where busking is possible. For example, coming now wouldn't make any sense.

You can try but make sure you have your city permits to busk in towns. Most city permits will require Canadian citizenship or PR. You may not be able to apply until you are in Canada and in a specific town or city. You can’t just busk on a corner. Where are you travelling?
