I have been here in Canada for almost 4 years now. I had 3 employers in that 4 years. The latest immigration law for foreign workers came as a shock to me. Learning that this would probably be my last year in Canada. Can anybody tell me if I can apply a study permit since this is only the option I can think of right now to be able to stay in Canada? I'm looking to get a practical nursing part time course which would take like 2 and a half years to finish. I am really desperate to stay because I am well adjusted to the country already. Can anyone shed light on this situation? Please. Thanks.

Apparently the 4 year rule is not taking effect retroactively so that basically means that you will have 4 years from now as long as you keep getting new LMO's. You should however start thinking about how you are planning on qualifying to apply for PR because at any point, an LMO might not be approved and you might have to go home.
