Hello all, I have 5 years of work experience back home in Marketing but I did not graduate. Does my experience give me points to Canadian express application or I must to have a degree to make the experience count?

Thank you in advance

From what I understand in terms of work experience requirements, and the FSW program itself (if that's the stream you're going for), having a degree is required (at least high school, but that don't get you many points).
Moreover, in the primary NOC for your application, not only do you need to fulfil the requirements for the main duties listed in your respective NOC, but also the ones regarding qualifications. (e.g previous years of experience and/or degree in related field).

Check your specific NOC and take a look at requirements for your profession.

Thank you for your response. I'm kinda concern because my previous job might not fulfill the NOC what if I get a letter from my old employer saying that my duties are what my NOC asks? My score is low only 395 and I'm afraid of not not being called out. I do have high school only dropped university before graduating.

Your old job is valid as long as its within last 10years.
You might be able to claim points for a diploma...if you spent sometime in university...2years or so.

I'm afraid 395 is a bit short, as cut off scores have been very consistent this year with the 440-442 range. With so many applicants in the pool sitting in this range, I highly doubt it will go down anytime soon.

Your previous job is valid if it's obtained within the last 10 years, full-time (=1560h/year, or equivalent in part-time), continuous (meaning no gaps), paid, and type 0, A, or B.

If there are no ways for you to increase your scores (like with a certificate or diploma), try aiming for PNPs. I don't think you can claim points for an uncompleted degree/program.

Yeah I had in my mind 420+ points after the work experience but I did not know because I didn't graduate it would affect. 395 is low number and I'm afraid I won't make the call outs, I tried Celpip 3 times and the best scores I got was L8 R11 S 8 R7, I'm not sure if doing the test again it would increse my scores since this was the best I got of all. I don't speak any French :'(

I was just checking and I might be able to update my work experience to 2 years based on the amount of hous. I have completed 1 year of full time but I got a new jog in a different field but kept the old as part time. My concern is does that matter if just now I change from 1 to 2 years work experience? I also need to get a experience letter from back home and I'm not sure how it should be like I mean, any sample that I should follow.

Thank you in advance.

Try taking it again. You're missing out on precious points due to score in Reading (CLB7). Try to aim for CLB9 or more. There are points for language profiency.

As long as you always fulfill the 1-year continuous minimum requirement in ONE and only NOC, you can add any other job experience and NOCs to accumulate points for work experience, for a maximum of 3 years worth of points. You're still at early stages in your profile, you can change whatever you want.
For the letter, there is no specific format. It just needs to include all what's required by CIC to the best of your ability. If you feel some info is missing, attach LOE. Check this:
