Foreign Passport Renewal While Waiting For Citizenship?

I recently renewed my foreign passport (non-Canadian) passport while waiting for my citizenship application to be processed. Do I need to inform the IRCC of this and give them details such as my new passport number? I inquired via IRCC's web form twice, and both times they gave non-sequitur answers that didn't really answer my question.

You don’t have to update IRCC on this. Your eligibility period is fixed as of the day you executed your application.

your CA citizenship application is kind of independent of your current citizenship/passport
