Foreign marriage contract

Applying for spouse sponsorship. Our marriage contract was issued in United Arab Emirates in both languages, do I need to have it attested/authenticated by the corresponding embassies and the Canadian ministry of foreign affairs?
A photocopy is to be submitted with the application. Do I have to take it to a notary to attest it is a true copy?
