Hi

I am hoping someone has a clear answer on this.

I have purchased a condo in BC in 2017 before the foreign buyers tax in the area was introduced.

I did have a BC PNP Nomination that I got back then in 2017 but didn't need it for tax exemption because of the area was not Vancouver.

Now, my BC PNP Nomination has expired according to paper (but the purpose it to apply for PR) and on April 2020 I received AOR for CEC Permanent residency, which with covid will take Dec 2020 to get my PR.

I am selling my condo and wanting to buy a bigger condo.
Now I read that the foreigner tax is 20 % . I don't want to wait till I get my PR which will be Dec 2020.

Could my 2017 BC PNP Nomination still work as exempting the foreign buyer's tax? I don't see specific guideline in this link, which is the most credible.

Hi,

I'm in a similar situation my PNP was issued in March 2020 but it has expired (It was valid for only 3 months) and I'm waiting to receive my PR by November 2020. Did you find any answer to your question? If I buy a property shall I pay foreign's buyer tax?
