we were asked to provide information about where the applicant has lived/travelled and any illnesses since his first medical. we emailed the information in and received DM 2 days later, without being notified how long the medical has been extended for. for others who have had similar experiences, how long were your medicals extended for? how long did you have between receiving COPR and needing to land? our application was processed in an unbelievably short amount of time, and we are not prepared for a move this soon - just wanting to put our minds at ease that we'll have at least a few months before he is required to land.

Did you get your meds done 6 months before you sent in your application?

Edit: Nm I looked at the spreadsheet. Good they extended them then! I've heard of people left with 1 month to land.

Aquakitty, my husband actually had two medicals done - the first was at the end of October 2014 when we planned to apply inland, and the second at the beginning of April 2015 when we decided to apply outland. we did the second medical voluntarily because we were already so far into the validity period of the first one, but we included the results of the first one in the application with a note explaining we were including it to indicate no change in his health (we didn't really expect that to be of any real use, but figured it couldn't hurt - we also figured it indicated that our relationship was ongoing).

and yes, that's what i was afraid of - we're thrilled to get DM, but totally weren't expecting it until February or March at the earliest, and so aren't prepared for him to move here before then.. and i have a ticket booked to go see him in January, which we also don't want to have to forfeit.

thanks for your help, Canuck!
