Read the book, practice on apps. There is a thread here that lists the apps. If you are consistently falling behind, then read the book again.
In my case only about half of the real test questions are similar to online tests. Among the other half, most are actually easier, common sense questions. Only one or two questions are harder but if you read Discover Canada a few times you should have a good hunch what the right answer should be.
If by online you mean the book "Discover Canada", yes. You should not rely on online practice tests and quizzes. The book is the main resource.

Very similar. At least test will make u go back to the book see what u missed. Read and jot at least 3-4 times and you should br fine.
