For persons who had their medical exam after submitting application to CIC

I read that this might delay the processing of the application.

Can anyone who had their medical exam after submitting their application to CIC indicate approximately how much extra time it added to the processing of your application?

I am sending mine with the application to avoid the delays, but on the CIC website they said it could be over a month extra.
