For Permanent Residences Application, does the IRCC requests IME or police check first?

Hello, I received a letter from IRCC to proceed IME. Does it means they do not request the latest police check from me (I submitted my old police check that I did in 2023)?
How long away I am from the approval upon completion of IME?
