Hello Senior members

Please guide me. I along with my spouse and my son have recently (Apr 2015) received the permanent residency of Canada. After Living there for 2 months, we came back to India in June 2015 to wrap up my business and now we are finally deciding to land in Canada in June 2016 and live there permanently. My question is that Are we allowed to stay outside of Canada for so long? Can the Immigration officer ask me why we remained absent for so long? Please shed some light ...

You need to stay 2 out of 5 years in Canada to retain your PR. One year outside canada, no problem.

No. If it is more than 3 years, then they will report to CIC.

Of course they can ask you the reason why you were absent but it doesn't really matter what you say because you are allowed to be absent for a year.
