For First landing How much money must be taken

Dear brothers .
for the first landing how much money(CAD) we need to take with us.
here is my situation
We are the four members family.(me, wife and two kids under 3 years.)
so how much minimum amount is needed for our all of us to show in airport.
1)I am planning to land before my family and they will follow me after 2 months.
So for me how much Minimum amount and maximum amount is CAD.
and in case i have less than minimum amount, will authorities allow me to enter in Canada.
and can i take total amount all in once that is required for all family
or 2) my family must keep their own amount for their landing . and I have to take my amount only.

I am writing these question as i read in a topic here in this forum that amount which we show in our bank statement for the 4 members family,i.e 21000 CAD
the same amount is needed to show on airport for first landing.
it would be great help if some one answer in details.

As you are the prinicipal applicant you are responsible for the required funds to bring while landing. At the time of landing the CBSA/IO can ask you about the funds you braught with you. In your case the minimum should be at least 21,000/ dollars and the maximum can be according to your capacity. What ever it may be as your funds are exceeding $ 10,000/= you have to disclose it by yourself to the CBSA. While landing your family can also bring some money with them by cash or in any other forms. I suggest at least you should bring $ 10,000/= in cash because you may need initial expence for the house and other utensils for settling down with family and do not expect a job for two three months. If you bring DD, there can be a delay upto a month for encashing it.

Wel I am here still confuse at the point of you that I should take 10000 atleast with me.ok fine but then my family will bring rest of 11000 CAD with them.is it? but in case if I will take all amount 21000 CAD then my family have to bring some money must or just for a ease?
and plz tell me any other means of taking money to Canada instead of cash or DD which is safe and encash easily.
or in case I take 21000 CAD cash then are any problems like taking money in form of $ from my homeland Pakistan or any security problems.

Pricipal applicant is required to carry at least the minimum required amount. Other family members can carry 0 dollars.
The best way to get accurate info on safety and best way to carry large sum of money is to ask your local bank.
