I am planning to fly from Mumbai to Halifax, Canada on 20th August 2019 with Emirates.
I have a student visa for Canada.

The route is Mumbai- Dubai (9hour layover) -London Gatwick (2 hours 10 min layover)- Halifax.

1. I wanted to know if 2-hour layover at London Gatwick is enough time for changing flights?
2. Do I need to have a transit visa for London or Dubai? ( I don't plan on leaving the airport, and I am booking a single ticket).

  1. A 2-hour and 10-minute layover at London Gatwick can be a bit tight for an international transfer. It's important to consider immigration and security procedures, as well as the distance between arrival and departure gates. While it's possible to make the connection, it might be a bit stressful. If your flights are on the same ticket and the airline has scheduled this layover, they likely consider it doable, but I recommend moving quickly and following airport signage for transfer passengers.
  2. If you're not leaving the airport during your layovers in London or Dubai and you have a single ticket, you typically won't need a transit visa. However, it's essential to double-check the specific requirements with the respective immigration authorities. Make sure to have all your travel documents, including your student visa for Canada, readily available, as you might be asked to present them during your layovers.
