Hello,
I will fly to Canada in the next weeks or so.
The most of the flights have a stop on Seattle to fly to canada.
my question:
I will get my permit work visa (young professional) in canada in my passport ... IS IT A PROBLEM TO FLY OVER USA ... what can they ask and what do they want to see? is this email printed letter enough? Can they say I am not allowed to go with the plane to canada?
What are your experiences? or what do you know?
THANKS!
Why is everything so complicated!!! ::)

:)

yes, the LOI is all you need at the POE when you enter canada. they might want to see proof of funds to support your stay, proof oftranvel insurance and sufficient funds to support your stay for about 2 month + funds for a return flight in case you don't have one when you
enter canada. However, they don't ask for all that stuff every time, but it's recommended having it all with you.
i don't know if you need a visa or anything for seattle if you only change planes there. no idea, someone else will have to answer that question.
I remember you mentioning that you're from Germany in another post... that means you can also check for direct flights. condor and lufthansa offer direct flights from frankfurt to vancouver.
it might be easier for you to get a flight to frankfurt ( or check rail and fly with deutsche bahn ) from wherever you're from and take a direct flight to vancouver
from there.

Hope this helps.

You may need a US transit visa - if you stop at Seattle enroute to Vancouver.
See this - http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_4383.html

If you are a citizen of any of the countries that participate in the VWP (visa waiver program), you do not need a visa, but need preauthorization via ESTA before travelling. See here - http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/without/without_1990.html

/hope this helps....

and if ragluf is right about the visa thing, than you dont need a visa since germany is part of the visa exempt countries.
you only will need to get an esta approval.
