Flagpoling co-op work permit Rainbow bridge.
Tue Sept 17th.
I just wanted to share my experience on this forum because the feedback and comments I read helped me prepare. I left toronto at 10:43pm using Go transit and arrived at Niagara Bus Terminal at 1:15am
I paid a taxi to take me to rainbow bridge for $50 but you can just take uber instead...it's about$10-15. I arrived at the US side and was told it was too early to flagpole and to come back at 7am in the morning. I made my way to the casino and there was a cafe inside the casino open from 10am-4am. I stayed there till 4am and made my way back to the border to cross the bridge and there were already 9 people ahead of me...DISCLAIMER: get to the bridge by at least 3am. It's the only way you can flagpole on time. They let hs cross the bridge at exactly 5am. You need $1 to cross the bridge. We all marched towards the US border to get our flagpole documents and headed back the same way maintaining the order we came in and waited till 8am for the Canadian side to open. Lo and behold, they decided to process only 10 applications and I was lucky to be the 8th applicant because 2 groups of couples were landing for their pr and it was considered a single application.
We made our way to to the Canadian border services building feeling victorious at 8:15.
I was the 8th and my name was not called till about 4pm. I left Niagara at about 4:45pm.
Thabk you to all the people on this forum who made this experience successful and for all the insight you provided. Most of the people I met at Rainbow bridge were doing it for the 3rd-4th time just because they had not been successful on previous attempts

Guess it stresses that CBSA appear to be getting than keen to follow through with flagpolers and anyone who attempts it does so at their own risk. Maybe lucky like yourself even with a ridiculous wait period or may not

Did you require a US visa to flagpole?
