Quick question about landing with COPR -

Our AOR was Dec 14 so we're hoping that we get PPR around April/May time. As we already reside in Canada we could easily go to the border and flagpole, however, as the PR cards are taking 3-4 months to be sent out, I'm concerned we won't have them before our trip to New York in July.

My question is, would we be able to go on our trip to New York and then do landing on our return at Pearson airport? My husband is on a work permit that would still be valid at the time of landing and he has a permanent job with the company he has been working for for the past 4 years so has all the relevant letter etc from them.

You can do that, if you have US visa or you are from visa exempt country. You can fly to the US then come back Canada and do landing with COPR, migrant visa and work permit or you can drive through the border. You should be ok.

Thanks Meya06. British passport so visa exempt country. Will still need to do EStA though to go to the states and will make sure we pack all our docs for the landing. Apart from the COPR, work permit & letter from employer, what else would we need? We are CEC Inland applicants. Also, would we need to do the new ETA to return to Canada?

just show them copr and passport. and if they ask for proof of funds show them pay slips and job letter.
this will do.

eta is required only if you dont have visa and you are transiting as a visa exempt.

Would they ask for proof of funds? Didn't think CEC applicants required this ::)

@scottygirl, you're right no POF is required for CEC candidates. Only required for FSW candidates.

That's what I thought! Getting ahead of myself just now but want to be prepared - like a good girl guide! ;D
