Hi, my family of 5 is planning to make our first landing by Nov'09. We plan to stay for 10 days and then come back for good after a year or two.

How much money should we bring and do we have to show proof of funds even if were gonna stay for only 10 days?

As for the "things to follow list", can we submit it even if it will follow after one year or so?

1. You need proof of funds for a family of 5 when you "land"
2. You need to submit your goods to follow list as well when you "land" you can't add anything to it after you "land"

I am just curious. What are the usual items for "things to follow list"?
Is there a limit for the value of the items to follow?

I just landed last week, they didn't accept my goods to follow list and told me to fill out the form again and bring it back again when I return to Canada in a few months by making pictures of the goods I want to bring in, adding up the serial numbers of goods like rugs, devices etc (for example> do you have rugs? what kind of a rug, is it silk? or wool? how much you payed for it? etc etc and the amounts off course)
And I can apply for the PR card once I return in near future and when I start looking for a house. The process was very quick and within a few minutes we were ready to go to our hotel and start our trip.

Hello PPm / Seniors,
I have submitted our passport for issuance of visa for a family of four. In the letter sent to us they said the visa will be valid for a period of six months or until the date of our medicals whichever comes earlier. My question now is I intend to land early next year alone without my wife and kids, if they do not accompany me now and their own visa expires what will be the implication? Can my own landing cover for them to get their PR since im the principal applicant? Kindly advice me.
Thanks

If they don't land within the validity of their visa. Then you would have to sponsor them, and they would have to submit new applications. You would also have to reside in Canada during the sponsorship process.
