First Cousin applying for Visitors Visa

Hello All,

I do know that this is the wrong board for this question, but I have not yet received any replies on the visitor board. Any help is appreciated.

My first cousin is currently residing in Chicago, Illinois, as a full time student and wants to visit Canada this December/January. He had applied before in December 2013 but was rejected because the officer wasn't convinced with his ties to the US.

I have received my Permanent Residence in August and am in a better position to invite him.

When he started his application progress, he has to upload the following documents;

1) What do I upload as Proof of relationship? He is my first cousin.
2) He hasn't bought tickets yet and will be staying with my for the duration of the visit. What can I upload for Proof of Travel?
3) What to upload for Letter of explanation?

Getting visitor visa as a student is so easy because having an education to go back to is enough ties to me as you would not want to forfeit all the money spent studying...

The first question is are you purchasing his flight ticket to and fro?
if Yes, you would need to show proof of income, bank statements, COPR or PR card, i dont know if proof of relationship is important but if you do have that you can include it. Also you would need to write a letter of explanation saying you are inviting him and the period he would be staying, that you would be responsible for his feeding and accomodation through out his period of stay, attached is my bank statements and other documents to back that up!

Also your cousin would have to satisfy the VO that he is returning back to US, he should get a letter from the school he is studying indicating he has paid his next semester fees(winter) and still currently enrolled, that he is only travelling for the xmas and would be back prior to school resumption, trasncripts, and if your cousin is paying his flight ticket, he need to show bank statements that has sufficient funds, if he stays in the school hostel and has made payment for the coming semester accomodation, he can include recepit showing payment! no document is ever too much to convince those guys that you intend going back to complete your studies.

Hi, when my relative in Canada helped me for my TRV, I only submitted her Canadian passport, certificate of employment, and invitation letter.
But I had also included a round trip ticket between my country and the US, as I made a quick stop to Canada between my US trip.

It is quite easy.
You do NOT have to buy his flight ticket !
Just explain in a LOE his trip plan, approximate dates and program, that's what my friend did and he got it easily.

You being PR does not mean anything, just to let you know, there is some citizen who could not get their family or friend there, on the other hand, there is some temporary workers on visa who got that for their friends ...

To show you family ties, I think you are a better person to answer that, it depends on your country lol, you should kno what your country is providing you to show that, no one can answer that, I am sure, your country give like a family certificate, like use your mom's one, and then they can see the same name, or your grandfather to show the same famoly name ... thiangs like that.

And as someone said here, studying in the US is hte easiest way to get it approved.

Unfortunately we don't have any proof of family ties. No birth certificates to link our parents.
