Sorry for my many posts lately but today I received another request from the vo to provide them with a set of original fingerprints and I am bit confused.
Does it mean that they want a Canadian criminal record or they just want to provide them with my fingerprints done in my home country from an official authority?
Today I went to the police station and I had my fingerprints done quite fast and easily on a form especially for use in Canada but I am not sure if I should send it to the embassy directly because if I am not mistaken if they want a Canadian criminal record I have to use an accredited company as I am outside of Canada.
It's strange if they want a Canadian criminal record as I have never been there

I'm not sure where you are located but we are working on my husbands PR he is Mexican and we are in Mexico. According to our criminal records check processes for Mexico we do everything here in Mexico including the finger prints and work through the Embassy of Canada here in Mexico City. We do not do anything in Canada as my husband cannot go there without a visa which he does not have.

Thanks for your reply, I am a visa exempt and it was not a requirement to provide cic with my fingerprints in the guide they have for western European countries, they only wanted a criminal record parer.

I am trying to figure out what exactly they want, RCMP fingerprints maybe? Or just to send them my fingerprints done in my home country?

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada.
In addition to the documents requested on our correspondence dated Nov 17, 2014, please provide the following document
>Fingerprints: A set of original fingerprints. Please consult : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/canada.asp

They gave me this link from my embassy and I am still confused, do they need RCMP fingerprints? I am outside Canada and have never been there and if they ask about this I don't understand. If anyone has experience on this matter I would appreciate a response

Even though I am not 100% sure, the fingerprints that is done by your local police or law enforcement agency usually would be acceptable.

Yes it's finger prints from your country and local law enforcement in your area can do the finger printing.
