Hi All,
I have to do the fingerprints as i got recently letter from CIC. My question is:

which way is faster:

1. RCMP
2. local police
3. authorized agents

I am asking this as i am on vactions outside canada while i got the letter and will have only 10 days when i arrive in Canada. Will only 10 days be enough to process FP and received by CIC?

Also FP request means further progress in the file? Good or bad?

regards,

regards,
I had FP request and done through Authorized agent. They send FP to RCMP electronically, and if there is no issue with police normally RCMP send result to CIC within 3 days.

Thanks for replies...

i am trying to understand why taking the FP directly with RCMP is delayed as compared to the agents who eventually send to RCMP???
Is the procedure with RCMP difficult? Need to get the appointment etc?

Please share your experience who has done FP with RCMP?

when i went through legal name change, i got fingerprinting done from RCMP office and their clerk took the fingerprints.
They used a dye to take fingerprints. I did not take an appointment and it took around 10-15 minutes to take fingerprints.
Dye printed fingerprints can slow the process because they have to do lot of work in order to check the fingerprints.

I think electronic fingerprints are easy to take and can be sent quickly and could be more clean and accurate.

So the agents do the electronic fingerprinting? and its fast...please confirm if my understanding is correct.
