Apologies if this question has been asked before.

Dose it make a difference in getting it done through a 3rd party like commissionaires as opposed to getting it through your local police station? My main concern how long the police station take to send it to RCMP. I was told commissionaires, that its sent immediately.

Appreciate any advice

Many thanks

When you have your FP taken at RCMP detachment digitally, it is sent instantly to Ottawa, you can expect to get the certificate back in about 7 days which you then send to the requesting office, this is how I did it and it did not seem to delay my application processing. Hope this helps

I did the FP with third party and was told that they have sent the print to RCMP instantly and they would then forward to CIC. They would not send any copies to me. It’s directly going to CIC.

Thanks for replying. Yes I've already got the fingerprints done through a 3rd party. The benefit in getting it done through a 3rd party like commissionaires is you can authorize the RCMP to send the report directly to IRCC. The local police service didn't give me that option and said that the report will be sent to me. So I have to forward it to IRCC. So I guess it may be slightly faster by about 2-5 days going through a 3rd party.
