My wife got Fingerprint request yesterday, she is going to have Fingerprint done electronically done in Vancouver.
Does anyone know what happens next?
She applied in the end of 2012 and got this Fingerprint letter 2 days ago.

Anyone who has been through this situation, please share your thoughts.

Thanks,

I got that same scenario.
Her papers will now fall under the category of Non-Routine Processing.
That means longer waiting time of 35 months.

ALL THE BEST!!!

Why non-routine?
It seems that only applicants in the west are being asked for fingerprints. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I noticed that one too, there are also a few in the Central region but mostly Prairies and Western.

What is a non-routine application?
An application is considered non-routine if any one of the following has occurred:

•you are asked to provide a residence questionnaire, documents proving residence in Canada, fingerprints, or any other additional documents;
•we have not received all the necessary documents or the correct fees;
•it is unclear whether you meet the residence requirements;
•it is unclear whether you are subject to any immigration, security or criminal prohibitions;
•you do not meet the language requirements for citizenship;
•you fail or are unable to write the knowledge-of-Canada test (citizenship test); and
•you require a hearing with a citizenship judge.

So an RQ is different than Docs proving residence in Canada.

It must be.

thanks for your comments.

I guess we can forget about citizenship application for 35 months now. haha
at least my daughter does not have to go through this lengthy process.

When I first applied for citizenship, I was hoping to get it but then after 2 years....haha I just ignore it until I got some kind of requests from CIC. It actually feels pretty good to move on. I am happy with a PR for the next 5 years as I can easily get visa to most countries in the world. Of course, Canadian passport would be good...but oh well what can I do?!!! ^_^

Gluck to everyone!!!!!!

Canuto, hold on, Deadmonton is getting there! I am hearing that folks applying in April-May 2012 (Quarter 2) are getting test invites, so yours will be coming soon!

Hi Kisunja, glad to hear that from you. I better start checking my community mail and also look for that reviewer again.
Any news about your papers? Will they add another citizenship judge in our local office soon?
Keep in touch!!
