Hello everyone,
As I am aiming for Express Entry and looking for a job at the moment, I am trying to make sure the one I accept would fit the skilled experience description. So I’ve been trying to find the corresponding NOC code to make sure it would be B or up.
Problem is the job I have in mind does not really completely fit in one category, and I’ve even searched the entire list one category after the other but I am just mostly unsure of everything. I’ll appreciate to have some other opinions about it with the details below.
I sent an email to the NOC services to ask about it. They told me the criteria taken into account are the job title, the employer, the education required for the job, and the job duties and responsibilities. So here it is...
The job title is Complaints Resolution Officer. This is for the an independent organization that has a mandate from the Commission of the Government responsible for telecom and television services in Canada. What they do is basically mediation between customers and service providers when it has failed just between the parties.
The position asks for post-secondary education preferably, and a minimum of 2 years experience in a complaints resolution environment.
Now the duties and responsibilities. From what I know so far, the people in this position mostly do research and analyze the situation to determine 1- if the complaint falls within the organization’s mandate and 2- if the service provider reasonably respected the contract and It’s own terms of service. They then try to find a solution that would satisfy both parties, and in the event that this fails as well, makes recommendations on how to solve the issue. The organization can make its final decisions legally binding if the customer agrees to it, even if the service provider does not. People in this position also research and document the claim by talking to the parties on the phone or by emails, and makes sure to have supporting documents in the event of future litigation.
The closest NOC code I found in terms of duties is the one regarding insurance adjusters and claim examiners (1312), which if you apply the duties to something else than insurance is basically what it is. But since insurance is literally in the title of the category, I can see that being a big problem.
Please help!
Thank you,
Léna
