Good day all.
I was accepted for a PhD program in Canada and was offered research assistantship which can only cover tuition for a year. Now the problem is I was hoping to get enough funding from the institution and so was not prepared for a heavy financial involvement. I have applied for a scholarship which can cover tuition and living expenses for three years but selection is yet to be made. All things being equal, I should have applied for Visa since March when I got the admission as I am expected to resume for Fall academic session 2017 (September). But my challenge is I do not have adequate proof of fund. I have been speaking with family and friends but I get more confused. My questions are:
1. Can my cousin's father stand as a sponsor using his fixed deposit account (showing heavy balance) and current account (showing high turnover of cash)
2. Can my aunty who resides in USA stand as a sponsor with a balance of 10,000 USD which is barely a month hold in her account, even though she has stood in for another person recently in USA.
3. Or can my uncle who bears the same last name with me stand as a sponsor using his landed property certificates and statement of account (even though he does not have enough balance in it but have used this same account to support his wife's travels years ago).
4. If I am fortunate to get the scholarship by the end of this month do I still need a sponsor?
I apologise for the long narrative. Please advise. Thank you.
