Hello everybody,

Recently I received my post graduate work permit and I am currently working with Desjardins Financial Security - Independent Network as a Financial Advisor in Toronto. It is a plain commission based job and there are no fixed hours of work. It is more like a business where I'm dealing with insurance and investment products. My question was whether this can help me qualify for permanent residency in Canada? I suppose this is under NOC B but I'm not sure of the exact code.

Anybody in a similar situation, can you please help me out and let me know if I'll be able to qualify for PR through CEC, FWW or ONP?

Thank You,
Chirag Jethwa

No its not. Its like Amway, Quixtar, Primerica multilevel marketing. In that case why join these companies. You could start your own banana business. Buy 10 bananas, get 5 people to buy 10 bananas and then get each of the five people to get five more people to buy 10 bananas and so forth. Before you know it you'll be the Banana king

You need to find a new job if your intention is to apply for PR.

Yes.

Your "job" isn't a job. You're actually an independent contractor, not an employee (DFSIN are usually very clear about that in their recruitment ads).
