Financial Ability for sponsoring Common law partner

I am a Canadian Citizen trying to sponsor my common law partner whom I've been living with for 2 years and 3 months in Turkey.
I have never worked in Canada as I was a student. I cannot show any proof that I can support my spouse financially currently, however if our application is accepted we plan on arriving here together and working together to support each other.
I am a university student and he is a recent graduate and currently a qualified teacher.
Will this be a reason to receive a rejection? I am afraid that our application will not be accepted due to financial reasons.
Can anybody please help me out with this confusion.

being a student is not a problem - my sponsor was a student and he was accepted.
however, you need to come up with a plan. Just saying that you will work to support each other is not enough.
Where will you live? if it's with family, and they will host you for the beginning, then get a letter from them stating that. If you have an idea of what type of job you will do, then write it down, and show that you have researched the "market" of the city where you intend to live to make it possible. If he has some transferable skills that can help, write it down as well. Make a plan, show to CIC that you will not go on welfare, and that you have thought about it. If you have some savings, then show it.
