Hi all

I have a question here. My hubby has been living in China with me for about 2 years without working, so he didnt pay any tax in Canada. I know that spousal sponorship doesnt need to meet the income limitation. Should he provide his savings or anything to prove that he is not broke or getting assisstance from the government? OR he just need to attach a justification covering that why he didnt pay tax for the past two years? He is going back to CA in Sep and will get a job there too. We will send our application after he get a job.

We are quite counfused about it, Thanks a lot if anybody can help.

we were also in same situation before 6-7 months and we sent one cover letter explaining, why didnt we pay taxes and why didnt we submit option-C printout. we sent my wife's bank statements also, to show that she is able to support us financially for next 3 years. just tell them, you will file your taxes, when you return to Canada. if its only spouse sponsorship, no dependent, then you dont need to wait for his job to file your application. you can send your application right now.
best of luck :)

Hey, ashunandal. Thanks a lot for your reply.

Could you possibly explain to me what is " option C printout"? Who will need that?

We were thinking to send the application a long time ago, but then we got this news that it is better to send our application when my hubby settle down in CA. Thats why we have been waiting. He is going back in Sep. We dont intend to have a baby in a short term. We would like to stay together actually, but just for the safey sake, we want to do the best, thats why he's going back and we have to suffer the waiting game. :'(

Your suggestion is good to me, thanks again. We will submit both mine and his savings history.

Good luck.

Cherrylu, I would strongly suggest that you read the guides to ensure you understand everything that is required. The Option C is simply an assessment which shows whether you've gone bankrupt or have been in receipt of government assistance. We didn't submit this because I, as the sponsor, have been outside Canada since 2001. I submitted my Chinese tax assessments, statements of earnings from my employer, and recent pay stubs...in addition to a detailed explanation.

Hi, I did go through the guide again and again. I spent time on the forum day and night, trying to figure out what else did I miss. Just want to be sure everything is perfect.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. I think we will have to explain this as we were planning to do.

Good luck

Cherrylu,

Are you from Fujian province? If so, you better make sure you have a very detailed application and loads of supporting evidence to back everything up. The visa office in HK rejects the majority of applications from Fujian. Some places in Europe will not issue visas to people who are from Fujian. My wife explained why, but I still don't fully understand it. Something to do with a track record of Fujian people overstaying visas or breaking immigration laws...plus a lot of fraud out of that province.

Just be aware.

WHAT! really good to know that they have this prejudice of FUJIAN Province.

I am from GUANGDONG Province, currently living in GZ. so my case will definitely go to HK too. Does your wife need to go for an interview?

Best wishes for you and your wife. Hope everything goes smoothly.

I know it is getting harder and harder to get the canadian PR, but I also believe that if we provide everything we have, it would be fine. but of course. help from experienced people is important too.

Good luck.

My wife is also from GZ.

There is a QQ group for mainland applicants. You might want to join it.

Highly doubt we will need to attend an interview. We have a child together and loads of evidence...shouldn't be a problem for us.

Good luck to you as well.
