Hey everyone.
Finally managed to come online. Been a long time hasnt it!? Anyway I wanted to share our experience for landing in Toronto.
We arrived there on a Monday late afternoon in Terminal 1 in Pearson. Let me tell you .. it was BUSY!!!! First part we had to go through a HUGE line up with 3 small kids when we landed to say what we brought in and where we were etc. I asked a couple of officers if we had a separate place to go for landing as a PR and they said you had to go through this line like everyone else. Well 30 mins later we finally got to the officer and he asked my husband more questions than me as he was the PR. Then he said you need to go to immigration. So they wouldnt let me in I had to sit out and he had another line up to stand in took almost 30 mins for his turn. The IO asked him about his criminal record, if his marital status was the same and he said we were sitting outside waiting for him. Then she took down the address and didnt say anything about the PR card. He came out and he just had his copy of the COPR and nothing else, so I told him did they say anything about the card and he said no, so to be sure it would be sent to the right address he went back in and waiting some more and then came out and told me they said by default it would be sent to the address we had written down. Then I guess they felt guilty or something and gave him a red "green" bag with some pamphlets and an daily organiser. When we got to where our luggage was supposed to be everyone was long gone and we had to search around to collect all our luggage! Was nerve wracking. But thankfully everything was there. Was a long trip but well worth it. I am so happy to be back home in Canada. 30 hours later and we were finally home!! I will be around helping out if anyone has any questions about the process..
