Hi All,

I finally got the email from Sydney, Canada. Its a rejection as I was expecting that since I applied under NOC 2173: I hope I get the cheque back in 2 - 3 months.

Application Received by CIC: June 5th, 2009
Draft En-Cashed : June 29th.

Here's the contents:

You have indicated that you have work experience in an occupation with the following NOC code: 2173- Software Engineer. This occupation is not included on the list of eligible occupations specified in the instructions identified by the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism and published in the Canada Gazette on 28 November 2008.

For the reasons outlined above, your application does not meet the requirements of the Ministerial Instructions and your application is not eligible for processing.

The fees that you have paid are refundable. You will receive a cheque within eight to twelve weeks. If you submitted original supporting documents, these are being returned to you by mail.

I am curious why in Jun 2009, you applied under 2173. Are you FSW 2 or 3, did they make a mistake?

Lack of research from my side. I overlooked it. my bad... I just wanted to share my experience so that no one else make this mistake ;)
no more plans for canada. US is the best :)

yeah US is okay. I am in the US now. I haven't decided which is better in the long term or whether i will get a job in either places when i finish.

Hey shahrahulb; appreciate your open and helpful attitude.
Wish you all the best; in your endeavors --- on the US side!!!
Take care.
