Finalizing PAckage : Which documents Need to be Notarized

I am finalizing the package to be sent to CIO office,

can you please summarize what document I should get notarized?

Every document that is a 'copy' needs to be notarized, therefore, everything except the Forms that you fill, IELTS exam result and Education Credential assessment report needs to be notarized.

one question, I see that you have also applied at Delhi so question is in india, where we should get we get docs notarized? will public notary be okay? and do the person who is notarizing need to provide an affidavit as well ?

Secondly, I also need to translate birth certificate docs, can you advise what I might need to do for this?

Goto the court and get it notarized from any Public Notary. No he does not need to provide any affidavit. Translate your birth certificate by yourself, print it and get it notarized as well. Send the photocopy of original birth certificate as well as the translated copy with your application.

The other commenter is wrong. You don't need to notarize all the copies. Only the documents that need to be translated into ENglish or French need to be notarized. Everything else, regular photocopy is sufficient.

The text reproduced below is from CIC website. In my opinion all photocopies need to be certified true copies to show that the documents that you are sending are genuine and true.

Certified true copies

To have a photocopy of a document certified, an authorized person must compare the original document to the photocopy and must print the following on the photocopy:

“I certify that this is a true copy of the original document”,
the name of the original document,
the date of the certification,
his or her name,
his or her official position or title, and
his or her signature.

"Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:
•the English or French translation; and
•an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
•a certified copy of the original document."

Of course you're absolutely free to notarize any copy if you're willing to do so, but please don't persuade others to spend extra on unnessesary arrangements

I still believe that what you have posted is in relation to translated documents and what I have stated is in respect of 'certified true copies'. My common sense also states that it is better to err on the side of caution to be safe. Neither you are an authority on immigration nor I am.

in my opinion only IELTS AND PCC ARE REQUIRED IN ORIGINAL OTHER ARE NOTORISED REQUIRED ALONGWITH CERT OTHER THAN ENG REQUIRES TO BE TRANSLATED AND NOTORY ATTESTED

I 100% agree to dsmalhan. All copies need to be notarised. Without any doubt.

2ndly 550 Canadian Dollar plus applying efforts are more worthy or few money for notarisation. Choice is simply yours. And we should not misguide anyone!

It depends on the country where you are getting it notarized. In my case, I paid around INR 500 for notarization which is less than CAD 10.
