I received this message on Aug 1, 2025:

Final decision – Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.
  1. How long does it usually take from this stage to receive the COPR?
  2. Can I recover/update my driver’s license / SIN number once i get my COPR?
  3. Can I work with a COPR if I’m currently on visitor status (previously had PGWP)?
  4. How long after that to get the PR card?

Any experiences or timelines would be appreciated.

1. Once you get final decision, this is the average waiting times for the next steps:
FD to P1 - normally within a week
P1 to P2 - taking 4-6 weeks nowadays
P2 to eCOPR - Normally within a week or two

COPR and eCOPR are not the same thing. COPR is a number that's normally updated when your application will be approved, but you're still not a PR. You are a PR when you get the eCOPR email.

COPR is normally updated in the system sometime after FD or P1. But again, you won't be a PR yet when this happens.

2. Your driver's license is not tied to your immigration status. You can get your SIN once you receive eCOPR.

3. You can start working once you receive eCOPR.

4. After eCOPR, it takes 4-6 weeks to get PR card (assuming everything is ok with the photo(s) you submitted).
