Does anyone know if Canadian Pharmacies in Ontario will fill prescriptions written by USA doctors?

I believe that the answer is not automatically. You will probably have to see a Canadian doctor who may liase with the USA doctor before approving the prescription.

How did this work out for you? It seems in Maine, Vermont and NY, residents in the border towns go over to fill their scripts because it's more affordable for cash only people.

Turns out Canadian Pharmacies will not fill a USA RX. So I found a Rite Aid pharmacy (where my RXs are refilled) in upstate NY that is right across the boarder. So I will just drive an hour and change over to pick them up when needed.

Before I left for Canada, I planned ahead and I did mail-order scripts through express scripts. They send you three months supply at one time. I was able to get 6 months supply of medication and birth control before I left. So I am covered. I hope that I will get my PR before they run out or else I will have to go across the border to pick them up.

That is so interesting. Thank you for responding. I must be getting old, but yeah, it was awhile ago there was a news piece done on people crossing the border for cheaper prescriptions. I guess it's since changed.

I found an article, I only glanced at it, but yes, this phenomenon was from 2003:
