Hi Guys

My wife and I are working on the application. Is it a big deal if I'm helping her with her forms? My English is a lot better than hers so I have to edit what she writes so it makes sense. Also we both remember different details. I'm better with the exact timeline and order of everything, while she remembers different details and events and what they were like but isn't the type of personality who remembers timelines, etc. that well.

I'm guessing most couples probably work on this together. Just wondering if this is OK to do? Or do the agents try to ascertain who wrote the answers on the questionnaire? or am I overthinking this too much....lol

Thanks!

Hi Bee08,

You are totally fine to work on the application together with your spouse. The important thing here is that you two have to maintain the consistency and truth of your answers. You can write down the timeline and events and let her read it until both of you are satisfied with the content.

It is very weird since you, the man, have better memory, while your spouse the wife, does not. I thought the ability of remembering details is exclusively for ladies only  . That is why I always remind myself not do any bad things to my wife. She would remember it until the world is over.

Hope that would help you.

Yes, it is OK to work on the application together. Just make sure that your wife understands all the answers and agrees with them. The visa officer will not be happy if, at the interview, your wife gives different answers and then explains it is because she just signed the application even though she did not understand it. (And yes, there have been many appeal cases where 'I signed the application but did not understand it, so that is why my answers are different' has been offered as an excuse for discrepancies.)
