Filling out Canadian Passport Page 4 ?

Hello friends

I have a question regarding filling out page 4 of my passport where it is asked to provide address and emergency contact of a person who won’t be traveling with me.

Is filling out that page mandatory? Would not filling it out cause any issues with customs when traveling abroad?

I haven’t filled it out since I haven’t moved after I received Canadian citizenship. So I’m assuming that the Canadian government has my up to date address in their database. And that when scanned by any customs it will show all those details.

I’m planning 2 trips to the US and Israel.

Your advice will be highly appreciated.

It's optional. I left it blank .You have to sign all the pages though.
U couldn't understand what you meant by custom issues.

Sign all the pages?
I just signed on page 2 where it is clearly asked to do so.

Customs issues like where do you live? Why didn’t you mention your home address on the page provided for this?

As you may know traveling to some countries can be very challenging regardless of the passport you hold.
