Hey y'all

I submitted an outland+online family class sponsorship application back in August to sponsor my wife into Canada.
This entire process takes such a long time and it's making us nervous that we might have gotten something, anything, wrong and that'll delay us even further. Especially because my wife and I met online so that will probably be at the very least a little bit suspicious to the CIC.

I was thinking of starting another online application but not submitting it, just in case our initial application gets rejected, so that if we need to resubmit, we already have everything edited, reviewed, and ready to be submitted right already, and then we will just change everything that was wrong with it.

My concern is that, if we do start another application but not submit it, does anyone know if that will affect our current application?
Like will the IRCC/CIC see that incomplete/non-submitted application and, for a reason unbeknown to me, refuse or make our active application more difficult? Or will we make it more difficult for them to process our active application?

When you submit your online application, you keep all of your source documents. This way you can reference them in the event of a document resubmission request. If you start, but do not submit an application. It will not impact the application that is currently in process. They only process what you submit.

Oh, so if they were to reject it because of missing information for example, all the documents and proofs and pictures that we uploaded on our initial application will still be there, and we'll just be able to very easily and quickly edit and resubmit our application?

Also, sorry, just a follow up question about the process, is the GCKey something we need to sign up for as well, or is that something that we'll have to do once they've started to process our application?

wait until you get your answer first ,by the time you receive your answer you might other updates ,taking in consideration that if there is no major changes or updates in relation to the first application the answer will be the same .
