I have several questions regarding these. Would appreciate answers from someone experienced and/or has recently gone through the landing process successfully:
1. Should I carry filled BSF186 and BSF186a forms myself? Is it mandatory? or can I just carry my own excel list with details?
2. Can BSF186 alone be used for both "Goods accompanying" and "Goods to follow" (on separate sheets)? If so, what is BSF186a for? and how to distinguish between the "goods accompanying" BSF186 form and the "Goods to follow" form since they are both same format and there is no option to differentiate both on the form itself?
3. What if I do not have any "goods to follow"? I am travelling solo with no dependents and my possessions are meager, so I can manage to carry all of them with me. I am not moving anything like furniture, car or kitchen appliances or jewelry.

1) It is not mandatory.
2) 186a is just continuation of 186
3) then you don't to show the forms!

Thanks! How do I distinguish between the "goods accompanying" BSF186 form and the "Goods to follow" form since they are both same format and there is no option to differentiate both on the form itself?

Anybody?!
I mean, when preparing both lists using the same two forms should I hand-write "goods accompanying" and "goods to follow" on top of each to differentiate?

You said you don't have "goods to follow". Therefore you simply skip them.

If you look at the bsf186 form, half way down, there are "Goods to follow" yes/no tick boxes...

Yes, I saw this. But I interpreted it differently. I thought this was meant to tell the immigration officers that I do have goods that I am expecting to follow apart from the ones I am carrying with me. (as opposed to mean that THAT form is for the "goods to follow" list when ticked and it will be a "goods accompanying" list when left unticked)
