My fiancee (a philippines citizen, applying for PR) and I are getting married in October and we want to try to get her brother here so he can walk her down the aisle, her family hasnt seen her in 2 years and she has zero family members in canada. He will be here for 3 weeks and staying with us. I am a born and raised canadian and can prove that I have the means to supports him ect. I will be writing a letter explaining all this.

My question is, he is only 22 and is in school. He will be taking time out of his semester for this trip. He does not have a job there as he is in school and he does not own any land or houses. This is going to be a problem isnt it? He has never travelled outside of philippines. How do we prove that he is going back?

Also, what exactly is the process to do this? Do we fill out all the info online then he goes to manila to the embassy? or do we provide him the documents then he takes them to manila?

She is going to be heart broken if she doesn't have any family here for our wedding. I have a feeling that he might get denied and it is going to devastate her. Please let me know what to expect.

Three weeks for a wedding? That is too much. It would need to be 1 week if possible, two tops.

If you have the means to support him is irrelevant. He is the one who needs to show he can afford the trip. How does he sustain himself? Can he prove it? why are you the one proving to have "means" and not his parents? This has to be explained.

He needs a letter from his university where it shows his enrollment dates, tuition fees paid and if possible, good grade standings and/or letter or recommendation from any of his supervisors/teachers which state he is a good student and important part of the community.

We want to take him around toronto and quebec as well as niagara falls. we dont want to bring him all the way here for 1 week. Can we apply for one week and if he gets approved, then he can book a longer trip?

and I think you read wrong, I am not supporting his means, I meant that while he is here in canada I will be supporting him. His father is passed and his mother is the one that works. His mother and brother as well as money that my fiancee sends back home pay for their lives in philippines.

I would never advise to lie to CIC.

Be careful while presenting your case. You say that the important thing is that he attends the wedding, but then you say "we dont want to bring him all the way here for 1 week"... this is contradictory, and CIC will frown at these kind of answers.

I didn't say you were.

This is going to be a problem. If your fiancè is partially supporting him then that raises the chances he might want to immigrate illegally. CIC would want to see that he can afford the trip with no interest on immigrating. The more evidence you provide he is dependant on you for the trip, the less chances of getting a TRV.
