Me and my boyfriend recently got engaged:) after all the hassle last year with his visitor record etc this time he got through with no problem:) Now all I need to know is how to get the ball rolling. We will be getting married during his 6 month stay in Canada. after this can he apply for PR? or do I sponsor him first? also would it be ok for him to extend his stay? perhaps for an additional 6 months? We want to have our honey moon here and do some traveling with my family etc. also I need help regarding sponsorship.what does it require to prove validity of our relationship other than a marriage certificate, photos, etc. please help especially anyone that has been or is in the same boat. thanks:)

ok I have reviewed what I needed as far as documents but it seems all so confusing to me:( I also have more questions... if I'm sponsoring spouse do I need proof of income? That could be a problem as I'm still looking for work. some documents such as emails, chats to prove we are in a genuine relationship? That's a problem as well as I have lost a lot of our conversations due to my computer crashing:( and what I do have are very explicit messages and conversations:s Could I edit them? ANYONE please help and steer me in the right direction. thank you

If neither of you have kids- you do not have to have a job. However , you should not be getting a social assistance either.

You also may read Operational Manuals on www.cic.gc.ca for "Sponsoring Family member".
And look and ask here http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/family-class-sponsorship-b5.0/

You may want to look at the Family Sponsorship forum on this website. there will be a lot of information for you there. The application process is pretty hefty, and requires a lot of documentation. Both your application to be a sponsor, and his application to be sponsored get mailed at the same time, in the same package or else they will send it back for being incomplete.
