Hello everyone, first post on here so I apologize if this question was already posted.

My fiancé recently moved here for 6 months from the US with the intentions of staying. He ended up not liking it and is contemplating moving back. He is very unsure since he cannot work here. Anyways, we are looking to apply for an extension just to see how much longer he can stay. ( he wants more time to think it over).

I am wondering if there is a medical exam involved in the extension process. I'm seeing different answers. Also if anyone else has experienced this before with their partner and how they overcame it. It's been a very difficult few months with me wanting him to stay and him unsure of what to do.

Thanks for all of your help I really appreciate it.
Rebecca.

hello Rebecca,

i am here in Canada at my fiance and extended my stay for 6 month. No medical exam was involved since i am from a visa exempt country and so is your fiance.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/extend-stay.asp here you have all infos on the cic homepage. Make sure you send your application 30 days before your fiances visitor visa expires.

good luck :)
